About Aristotle
The name instantly conjures up thoughts of wisdom, a remarkable mind, and philosophies that have stood the test of time. But who was this great man who has come to become a household name throughout the ages, and remains a great influence on society even today?
Aristotle was a Greek philosopher who was born in 384BC. He was a student of one of the most famous philosophers of all time, Plato, and Aristotle went on to become just as great as his teacher. Aristotle, Plato and Plato’s teacher, Socrates, are generally regarded as the father figures of philosophy, and their teachings and writings continue to inspire millions of people.
Aristotle wrote philosophical essays on a great variety of subjects, from physics to poetry to ethics to biology. His views on physics shaped the studies of many great physicists through the ages, and his work on the subject of logic was thought to be the first ever recorded. Remarkably, Aristotle’s ideas were almost two millennia before his time as many of Aristotle’s original thoughts on the subject of zoology were irrefutably confirmed only in the 19th century.
This great man had a great mind that could surpass any other, and can undoubtedly be regarded as one of the most influential figures that ever lived. His ideas and beliefs have influenced countless fields of scholarship, and will no doubt continue to hold influence for many generations to come.
